Sem 7 Week 0 - Story Discussion & Roles
This is the start of our new journey - the final year project, we will create a story of our own in a short film.
We start off by confirming our project type, style and theme that is able to accommodate each teammates' preferences.
Story reel in a fantasy world, with horror and action genre, with "Arcane" stylized modeling and "Love death and robots - The Dump” realistic texturing.

Now we have a clear path, our teammates create each of their own stories by writing in google doc, which we use mainly as our group sharing documents. We came to a conclusion to choose one of our teammate's story, which is about a child facing his inner demon, involving the emotional depth that we hope to let our audience feel.
After that, we move to job distribution for our teammates by their own choice and skills. We list out everything inclusing the software we are going to use for our project, for convenience of our workflow while working with each other.
Story Brainstorming
With the story set up, we go on deciding the world setting, character amount, their profile including role, age and personality. We do research on the web for more information, the time period and real-world problem we want to include in our film. After doing complete research, we move on with developing the story.

Challenges Faced
During our story brainstorming, our teammates may have different suggestions for the story or technical part, we couldn't decide on some of them and it made our story on hold.
Solution
We decided to meet with different lecturers other than animation course to get advice from multiple viewpoints, as it really helped us on things we might overlooked and on continuing our process. We also hold a small meeting for our teammates to express their concern on the problem they notice as our project is proceeding. Their feedback helped us understand our issue better and we discussed the solutions.
What's Next?
After we decided on our story, we are going to move on to find the references for our idea, to make it easier to visualize our story, and also start with the concept art, including character design and the environment. In this stage, we are required to show our lecturers our story regularly as it progresses with new updates.
